OUR THESIS

India generates 1,70,000 tonnes of waste a day. The bottleneck isn't technology — it's logistics.

Processing plants exist. Regulations now demand compliance. What's missing is the organised collection layer connecting one to the other. That's what we built.

THE PARADOX

A plant built for 343 tonnes a day, running at a third of that.

Local Bio-CNG facilities in Prayagraj are designed to process hundreds of tonnes of organic waste daily. Today they run at roughly a quarter to a third of that capacity — not because the demand for clean energy isn't there, but because clean, segregated feedstock rarely reaches the gate. Municipal collection trucks deliver mixed, contaminated waste that damages digesters built for pure organic input.

Bhoomika exists to close exactly this gap — aggregating clean, segregated organic waste directly from commercial generators (hotels, markets, hospitals, campuses) and delivering it straight to the processor, every day, on record.

WHY NOW

Macro shifts driving the industry

▶ MoEFCC GAZETTE S.O. 388(E)

Statutory Mandate with Real Teeth

SWM Rules 2026 mandate 4-stream segregation, CPCB portal tracking, and monthly EBWGR certificates for all Bulk Waste Generators (BWGs). View Official Gazette PDF →

Enforcement Penalties: ₹10L fined in Noida (club & mall), 121 notices in Ghaziabad, ₹22L+ in Gurugram.
▶ SUPREME COURT (CA 6174/2023)

Judicial & Constitutional Mandate

In Bhopal Municipal Corporation v. Dr. Subhash C. Pandey, the Supreme Court ruled that waste mismanagement engages Article 21 (Right to Life) and set a binding 31 March 2026 deadline with a 3-tier enforcement ladder. View SC Ruling PDF →

▶ RULE 8 VS RULE 6 & 3-PATH FRAMEWORK

Why D2D Trucks Cannot Serve BWGs

Door-to-Door (Rule 8) is for residential households. BWGs (≥100 kg/day) are legally prohibited from handing unsegregated waste to municipal trucks. Under SWM Rules 2026, BWGs have 3 legal choices: (1) On-Site OWC, (2) Municipal Bulk Commercial Tariff Fees, or (3) Direct B2B Contracting with Bhoomika under the EBWGR framework.

▶ GOBARDHAN & SATAT ECOSYSTEM

National Bio-CNG Infrastructure

Bhoomika operates inside India's GOBARdhan and SATAT schemes, routing 100% of organic waste to authorized Bio-CNG plants — closing the sector's central feedstock bottleneck.

COMPLIANCE SHIELD & DOUBLE-TAXATION PROTECTION

From Municipal Tariff Risks to 100% Audit Assurance

"While municipal vehicles handle standard household collection today, SWM Rules 2026 make society management legally responsible for cradle-to-grave waste disposal. If a random municipal inspection finds unsegregated waste, the society—not the driver—faces heavy NGT environmental compensation fines."

⚠️ THE DOUBLE-TAXATION TRAP

Avoid Unplanned Municipal Tax Surcharges

Municipal Corporations actively identify commercial properties and building societies that do not manage waste on-site, adding a structured 12-month bulk garbage user fee directly onto commercial/property tax bills. Contracting Bhoomika satisfies SWM Rules 2026 requirements, preventing tax surcharges.

📊 AUDIT-READY CHAIN OF CUSTODY

Full Traceability & WDC Certification

Standard household pickup provides no commercial receipt or destination tracking. Bhoomika provides daily electronic weighbridge slips, GPS route logs, Bio-CNG plant intake receipts, and monthly Waste Disposal Certificates (WDCs) for seamless health inspector and CPCB Form IV audits.

DIGNITY FOR SANITATION WORKERS

"Every morning during early scheduled hours, while the city sleeps, our logistics crews will work with dignity — equipped with proper safety gear, fair wages, health insurance, and GPS-tracked vehicles. Our commitment is restoring respect to the hands that keep India clean."

— Bhoomika Pre-Launch Social Impact Commitment
METHANE & CLIMATE RESCUE

"Rotting organic waste in open landfills releases methane — a greenhouse gas 28× more potent than CO₂. By designing our operational model to route 100% of collected wet waste to anaerobic Bio-CNG digesters, every tonne of waste we divert will power clean green fuel for Indian homes."

— UN SDG 13 Climate Action Alignment
OUR VISION

The SWM Rules 2026 are not a burden — they are a blueprint. We are building the infrastructure to make Prayagraj a zero-landfill city — partnering with forward-thinking establishments to turn daily compliance into permanent environmental leadership.

DIVISION OF SERVICE SCOPE

Why Commercial BWGs Need Dedicated B2B Compliance Logistics

Under SWM Rules 2026, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs / Municipal Corporations) are legally responsible ONLY for residential household Door-to-Door (D2D) collection under exclusive municipal tenders (Rule 6). BWG commercial waste is NOT a local body duty — commercial Bulk Waste Generators (hotels, mandis, hospitals) are statutorily required to arrange dedicated off-site Bio-CNG transport under open empanelment (Rule 5 & 8).

LOCAL MUNICIPAL CORPORATION (RESIDENTIAL / HOUSEHOLD FOCUS)
  • Structured for Local Municipal Corporation public sanitation & household collection
  • Not designed for B2B commercial weighment logs or manifests
  • Routes waste to municipal transfer / MSW processing sites
  • Commercial audit-trail documents outside service scope
  • Cannot issue commercial EBWGR processing records
  • Leaves commercial BWGs without individual audit proof
INFORMAL PRIVATE COLLECTOR
  • No UPPCB authorisation or transporter registration
  • No chain-of-custody documentation issued
  • Destination unverified; high risk of roadside dumping
  • Cannot provide EBWGR processing certificates
  • Leaves establishment exposed during PCB audits
BHOOMIKA (DEDICATED B2B LOGISTICS)
  • Pre-segregated organic waste collection only
  • Zero Processing Plant & Zero Warehouse (Direct Transit to Plant)
  • Weighment slip + transport manifest for every load
  • Direct delivery to licensed Bio-CNG processing plants (EverEnviro Naini)
  • EBWGR-aligned processing records generated
  • CPCB portal onboarding & monthly data uploads
  • Annual SWM returns support & 100% audit-ready files
THE RULES WE DON'T BREAK

Our non-negotiable principles

Pure Logistics & Zero Intermediate Warehouse — we own no processing plant or holding warehouse; waste moves in sealed point-to-point transit directly to EverEnviro's Naini Bio-CNG plant.

No Segregation, No Pickup — we refuse contaminated loads at the gate, every time.

Full documentation on every load — no exceptions.

Full protective equipment for every worker, every shift.

We prove it works in one zone before we expand to the next.

FOUNDERS' NOTE

"We didn't start Bhoomika with a master business plan. We started with a question that wouldn't leave us alone: how does a country that just hosted the largest human gathering on earth still send most of its organic waste to rot in a landfill? The technology to fix this already exists. What's missing is someone willing to do the unglamorous work in between—collecting honestly, documenting everything, and showing up every single day whether anyone is watching or not.

So that's what we do. We built Bhoomika to be that missing link. We started with a single vehicle and one route. Ninety days to prove it works before promising anything bigger.

We will make mistakes along the way. But the reason we started won't change: waste isn't the end of something's usefulness—it's a resource that lost its way home. We don't measure ourselves by how big we get, but by how much waste never reaches a landfill because we decided to show up."

THE STRATEGY

Our Proving Ground: Why Prayagraj?

While our registered headquarters are in Gorakhpur, we deliberately selected Prayagraj as our operational beachhead. Prayagraj is a rapidly modernizing tier-2 metropolis that hosts massive religious and cultural gatherings—creating some of the most complex, high-density waste logistics challenges in the world.

Furthermore, Prayagraj is home to state-of-the-art Bio-CNG processing infrastructure that is currently underutilized due to a lack of clean, segregated organic feedstock.

The Blueprint for India

By solving the logistics puzzle in Prayagraj, we aren't just cleaning a city; we are building a hyper-efficient, stress-tested blueprint that can be scaled to any city in India. If our model succeeds under the intense pressures of Prayagraj, it will succeed anywhere.
